Admission Requirements

The minimum requirements for admission in MBA at Lahore University of Management Sciences LUMS for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:

  • program specific academic requirment set by Lahore University of Management Sciences LUMS.
  • English Language OR any other language requirments as set by Lahore University of Management Sciences LUMS as pre-requiste for admission in MBA.

Applicants must meet the minimum eligibility criteria in order to be considered for admission to the Graduate Programme. 

Applicants are selected for admission to the LUMS MBA Programme based on the following factors:

  • Academic Record;

  • Performance in the Admission Test*;
  • Work experience (strongly preferred);
  • Two Letters of Recommendation;
  • Completed and submitted application form and supporting documents by the stipulated deadline;
  • Application Review; and

  • Interview Performance (if called)

More Information

This two-year programme is built on case method teaching and a focus on tackling real-world challenges. It has a collection of core and elective courses, combined with Experiential Learning through active industry engagement from day one that sets this programme apart as a model for advancement, growth and success. The Experiential Learning process is grounded in the practical application of reflective thinking to analyse and make impactful decisions. During the MBA, students work on over 500 cases in which they become active learners and decision makers, developing critical thinking and quantitative reasoning skills. They analyse and apply theatrical frameworks to debate and develop arguments and make powerful cases to energise businesses, teams, and entrepreneurial ventures.

The MBA Programme comprises of 22 units

1 unit = 3 credit hours
1 credit hour = 3 hours of class contact per week for 14 weeks

Therefore, 1 unit = 42 (14x3) class contact hours.

The first year of the programme consists of core courses, while the second year may consist of half-semester or full semester elective courses:

  • Half course (0.5 unit course) = 15 sessions (including Midterm/Final Exams)
  • Full course (1.0 unit course) = 30 sessions (including Midterm/Final Exams)

Students are also required to complete a mandatory summer internship for 6-8 weeks between their first and second years.

In addition to the regular coursework, students are also required to actively participate in and attend activities such as career development workshops, extracurricular events organised by executive clubs and societies, review sessions conducted by the faculty, sessions with the Dean, Associate Deans, and Programme Director; in addition to any other projects and assignments organised by the Programme Coordination Office.
